I’m so glad you asked! For once upon a time there was a young girl who gave up her acceptance to medical school to go to seminary in NJ. There was also a young boy with a heart like David, who could build a tabernacle of praise through his song and instruments. The two met and got married. The biggest joy of their lives outside of having their amazing children is pursuing the kingdom. Over the years that pursuit has looked different! We had the privilege of serving a precious group of youth and college who all together represented more than 5 nations of Asia. As time passed and we have raised our family, our hearts and minds have returned to Asia and its people. That led us to Nepal. It is an amazing land with delicious food but more importantly we felt how the Lord's heart is calling for the people who inhabit the high places of the earth to be His.
Leading up to our time in Nepal and even more after we left Nepal, our hearts began to beat for the unreached. Beat with the rhythm of God's heartbeat for places that have historically been thought to be dry ground for the gospel.
Jon and I have a long history of surrendering all to the Lord and doing anything he asks of us. Our path and preparation has included many different experiences, education, and opportunities to serve.
We are excited to surrender our lives to the One that is above every name and follow the river of His presence. For where the river is there is life and even the salty places become fresh again (Ezekiel 47).
Our next stop is Harvest School of Missions Smoky Mountains in Greenville, Tennessee. It is a three month mission training school that will equip our family with practical, spiritual, and biblical training for the next season.
